Kids Creative Movement

Kids creative movement provides a playful, creative, body-positive, and non-judgmental way for children to explore a wide range of movement possibilities, engage their imaginations, develop kinesthetic awareness, and practice self-expression.

Through guided exercises, games, and activities, children follow their movement impulses and use their bodies as an instrument of expression, drawing inspiration from the natural world. In a safe, supportive, exploratory environment, they listen to themselves, each other, and their surroundings through unchoreographed, open-ended movement.

Kids creative movement supports children’s positive self-image, proprioceptive awareness, social-emotional intelligence, empathy and cooperation, rhythm and motor coordination, and physical health.

Kids creative movement is informed by several somatic movement techniques, including: Laban Movement Analysis, Body-Mind Centering®, and Image Theatre.
